Author Bio

John J. O'Donoghue retired from the Cambridge, MA, Fire Department in December 2004 after 39 years of service. He has been a member of the ASME A 17.1/CSA B44 Safety code for Elevators, Emergency Operations Committee for the past 25 years. He sits on the MA Board of Elevator Regulations representing the Department of Fire Services and has served as an instructor at the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy, where he has developed safe operations for firefighters dealing with elevators.

Theodore Lee Jarobe served as the Montgomery Country, MD, Fire and Rescue Service for 40 years. He taught elevator rescue training for more than 30 years throughout the U.S. Ted is an executive fire officer and member of the Institution of Fire Engineers. Ted code signed an elevator pole in the early 1970's that is still being used by firefighters today.
