You can now earn continuing education credit for your QEI and CET/CAT recertification by taking part in the Virtual Elevator Event On Demand. Interested individuals can view selected presentations available for CEUs, starting February 22, 2010, all the way through May 17, 2010.

Guaranteeing Best Rope and Hoisting System Performance
Presented by Martin Rhiner, VP Engineering/Quality for Brugg Wire Rope.

This presentation is approved for .5 contact hours or .05CEU by NAESA, QEI Services, Inc. and the Elevator Industry Work Preservation Fund (EIWPF) for QEI, NAEC for CET/CAT and Florida CC Recertification. Please include your license number(s) in the comments field when checking out so that it can be included on your certificate.

This is a brief overview of critical industry topics including, installation design, sheave groove profiles, rope handling and system maintenance. Tailored towards the experienced elevator professional, yet accessible to those just entering the field, he explains just how these factors have a multiplicative impact on rope life expectancy, and why they are the true reason why rope life appears to have diminished despite advances in rope quality and rope design over recent decades.
