This is a self-study course with a timed online test. The book is not included and should be purchased separately.
This course is based on Chapter 4, "Hydraulic Elevators", of the Elevator Maintenance Manual, 2nd Edition by Zack McCain (not included). The Hydraulic Elevator Maintenance Course counts as 2.0 contact hours (0.2 CEU) towards recertification.
Approved by NAEC for CET/CAT, QEI Services for QEI and by the states of Florida, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia.
Learning Objectives - By studying the required materials to take the exam the reader will have had the opportunity to learn the safe and proper methods for performing service, cleaning and light repair on hydraulic elevators.
Curriculum - The following are some areas of maintenance covered:
- Machine Room Service
- Service in the Hoistway and Car Top
- Pit and Bottom Car Maintenance
- Inside Car service
Testing Procedures:The exam databank consists of 34 questions which are all multiple choice. 30 questions will be chosen at random and the candidate will be allowed 40 minutes to take the test. If you fail the exam you will be allowed two free retakes.

- If you scored 80% or above you can immediately print your certificate of completion. If you score below 80% you will have up to two free retakes.
