CAT stands for the Certified Accessibility and Private Residence Lift Technician education and certification program. CAT is a part of the CET program, a 2-year education curriculum that aims at accessibility contractors. Like CET, CAT has grandparent and candidate options.
The Grandparent Test Study Guide contains a databank of 600 questions and answers from which 150 will be randomly generated for the Certified Accessibility and Private Residence Lift Technician Grandparent Exam This exam is available to those who qualify.
The qualifications for CAT Grandparenting are:
6,000 documented hours (three years) of on-the-job training within the accessibility residential lift industry
Approval of the completed CAT Grandparent Application at NAEC's website)
