The new safety handbook includes the most up-to-date safety procedures for protection of field employees on every construction or maintenance job.
Changes in the 2010 edition are in the following areas:
Additional safety responsibilities of the mechanic/mechanic-in-charge have been reviewed and revised.
A fall height illustration has been added to aid in determining fall clearances.
New car-top guardrail system and new escalator/moving walk barricade illustrations have been added.
The Electrical Safety section has been reviewed and adjusted to better conform to the 2009 version of NFPA70e.
A simplified procedure for safely accessing and exiting car tops and pits has been developed and approved.
Wording regarding a blocking device for machineroom-less elevators has been added.
The section on portable ladders and scaffolds now also includes stationary work platforms.
